Is a simple written power of attorney enough?
Institutions accept a simple written power of attorney for some everyday matters, but property transactions, inheritance and many registry procedures require a notarial one. We'll check what the institution accepts.
Can I sign a power of attorney abroad?
Yes, before a notary in the country you're in, or at a Latvian embassy or consulate that performs notarial acts. The document may then need an apostille and a translation.
Can the power of attorney be bilingual?
Yes. A bilingual power of attorney saves a separate translation and is practical when the document will be used both in Latvia and abroad.
